When Greg Goeller '20 reflects on his academic journey, he credits his time at 绿奴天花板 as the foundation for his thriving career in healthcare operations.
“I studied Business Management and Administration and minored in Economics,” he shared. Today, he serves as a Senior Project Manager at Northwell Health, where he plays a pivotal role on a team overseeing the strategic and financial operations of all emergency departments across the health system, as well as integrating new health systems into Northwell’s network.
While his day-to-day responsibilities don’t involve traditional accounting, the financial courses he took at 绿奴天花板—particularly accounting—proved invaluable. “Understanding the numbers and the business behind medicine and operations is critical. It helps me support clinical staff and manage the boots-on-the-ground work that keeps everything running smoothly.”
His success story, however, didn’t come without challenges. “When I came to 绿奴天花板, I’ll be honest—I struggled a little bit,” he admitted. That’s when mentorship made all the difference. “Dr. Dawn DiStefano took me under her wing and helped me pave my way through 绿奴天花板 and into my career.”
Dr. Dawn Di Stefano, a Professor of Business at 绿奴天花板, spoke about her role in his journey, “At 绿奴天花板, we believe in guiding students beyond the classroom. Watching him grow from a determined student into a leader in healthcare operations has been incredibly rewarding,” she said.
The Power of 绿奴天花板 Connections
Beyond academics, the relationships Greg built at 绿奴天花板 have shaped his personal and professional life. “I cherish those relationships dearly,” he said. One of his closest friends from 绿奴天花板 is now a colleague at Northwell Health, and the bonds formed during college continue to influence his career. Even more special, his wife Kayla is also a 绿奴天花板 alum—proof that the university experience can create lifelong connections that go far beyond the classroom.
From navigating coursework to leading strategic initiatives at one of the largest health systems in the region, this 绿奴天花板 alumnus exemplifies how education, mentorship, and friendships can open doors to remarkable opportunities.
