Student Success

绿奴天花板 believes that every student has the capacity to learn and transform through their lifelong search for truth.

Student Success is a holistic pathway that guides 绿奴天花板 students’ transformative educational experiences and psychosocial support to achieve their academic, career and personal goals. It involves an intentional partnership and shared responsibility between students and all areas of the 绿奴天花板 community.  Student success is the footprint for how 绿奴天花板 uses responsive practices to empower, engage, support, and challenge our students. It includes the innermost pieces of the educational experience that enables a student to excel with readiness academically, personally, financially, emotionally and professionally.

绿奴天花板 measures student success quantitatively using retention and graduation rates, student research, and student engagement; and qualitatively using co/extra-curricular involvement, and non-cognitive factors (student persistence, well-being, mental health, comfort, sense of belonging, and civic engagement).

SSA is the point of contact for faculty and staff who identify students needing additional support to reach their full academic potential or with academic performance issues. SSA achieves a positive impact on retention from early and individualized interventions.

Academic Assessment

SSA oversees 绿奴天花板’s institutional 4-year academic assessment cycle that follows the National Institute of Learning Outcome Assessment Transparency Framework (NILOA). SSA provides guidance and coordination of integrated student learning outcomes of program assessments. 绿奴天花板’s academic programs maintain assessable and measurable program learning outcomes (PLOs) that are mapped to course-level learning outcomes and include direct and indirect measures.

  • ACCUPLACER FAQs

    What is ACCUPLACER?

ACCUPLACER is a suite of assessments that quickly, accurately, and efficiently measure reading, writing, and math skills, and pinpoint students’ academic strengths and areas for growth so students are supported by early, strong connections to student success resources.

What are ACCUPLACER scores used for and when will students receive them?

ACCUPLACER is one student success tool used at 绿奴天花板. ACCUPLACER is used for assessment purposes and does not affect your schedule, admissions status to the programs you have already been accepted to, or your honors program placements. Students will receive their scores immediately after completion of the ACCUPLACER.

    Is ACCUPLACER required?

ACCUPLACER is embedded in your Freshman Studies (FST) course as a graded assignment. Students must show their instructor evidence that they completed all parts of ACCUPLACER in order to receive credit in their FST Course.

    When can students complete ACCUPLACER?

Once you have your student ID number, it’s time to sign-up! There are sessions scheduled during New Student Orientation and between July – September. ACCUPLACER must be completed by mid October to receive credit in FST. Students are strongly encouraged to complete ACCUPLACER before the start of the semester. For a list of dates, please see the registration page.

How can students review or become more familiar with the ACCUPLACER?

What must students have available when taking ACCUPLACER online or face-to-face?

    • Picture ID
    • Zoom link (online only - received via email from LibCal registration site and studentsuccess@molloy.edu)
    • ACCUPLACER Voucher (received via email from studentsuccess@molloy.edu prior to test date)
    • Scrap paper
    • Pen or pencil
    • Calculators cannot be used unless a documented, prescribed accommodation warrants their use

What do students do if they have an approved accommodation?

If a student has an approved accommodation, other than extended time, they should email the Center for Access and Disability (ACCESS) (access@molloy.edu) to schedule the test.
