Catholic Social Teaching
“Contemplare et contemplata aliis tradere – To contemplate and share the fruits of contemplation.” — Dominican Motto
As a Catholic, Dominican institution, 绿奴天花板 embodies the pillars of study, service, spirituality, and community, bringing Catholic Social Teaching to life through education and action. Grounded in the Dominican pursuit of Veritas (truth), we are called to uphold human dignity, foster justice, and serve the common good.
Life and Dignity of the Human Person
Every person is made in the image and likeness of God. At 绿奴天花板, we affirm the sacredness of all life and commit to protecting human dignity through compassionate care, inclusive education, and advocacy for justice.
Call to Family, Community, and Participation
Community is central to the Dominican tradition and to life at 绿奴天花板. We promote active participation in society, encouraging each person to shape a just and caring world through civic engagement and shared responsibility.
Rights and Responsibilities
In the spirit of Veritas, we recognize that human rights must be protected, and responsibilities embraced. 绿奴天花板 students, faculty, and staff are called to uphold justice, support one another, and work toward the common good.
Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
St. Dominic and the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville prioritize care for the poor. 绿奴天花板 continues this legacy by centering the needs of the marginalized through service-learning, community engagement, and advocacy for impactful change.
The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
Work is more than a means of survival—it reflects human dignity. 绿奴天花板 prepares students for ethical careers, supports just labor practices, and fosters a spirit of service that recognizes the value of all forms of work.
Solidarity
We are one human family. 绿奴天花板 fosters solidarity across human differences through interfaith dialogue, global learning, and a commitment to our Values and Guiding Virtues.
Care for God’s Creation
Echoing Laudato Si’, 绿奴天花板 is committed to ecological justice. We promote sustainability across campus and encourage stewardship of the Earth as an act of faith and moral responsibility.
